- The house was in darkness; their parents were either asleep or still on the terrace. Given the early hour, the latter seemed likely. As they rounded the house, they were surprised to find the terrace deserted. They heard voices and followed them around the house. They found the others in the brightly lit pool, which was just around the corner and which they hadn't noticed before.
